The truth about starting anything new, whether that be a new relationship, podcast, business or friendship, is it’s always a little scary right before you do. The early stages are ALWAYS exciting, but the middle stages are where you’re tested.
Recognizing this is not negative- it’s inevitable. It’s also undoubtably where you grow the most! Remember that the middle of your journey is the meat of your story, it’s where things get interesting and people start to take notice. My big question for you is this: When things get tough, are you going quit? or develop GRIT? We’re all a product of our choices, and what you do every day MATTERS.
If you’re not familiar, the meaning of grit is the resolve and strength of your character, it’s having unyielding courage in the face of hardship. Put simply, it’s where you see what you’re really made of!
When I started Courage with Cathy, I often prayed at night with tears streaming down my cheeks. I felt in my spirit CWC was birthed to bring hope to many. I truly felt that God was helping me, and that my little blog would impact thousands. You might think I’m nuts (I am) but most people who believe they can make an impact- are the ones who do.
So what happened? Well, I lost my grit. I had unrealistic expectations and lost sight of my passion. I got busy and stopped listening to the holy spirit telling me to continue, which I think we can all relate to. Its funny because so many of us lower the volume of our dreams and turn up the noise of our distractions. We settle, drink to make us feel better, and lose sight of what’s meant for us.
My prayer for you in the new year is this:
That you remain persistent in what you’re embarking on.
That you don’t let distractions, doubt, or fear take over.
That you prioritize your health and what truly matters to YOU.
I don’t pray it’s easy because it never is ( and how boring would that be. )
That you develop the character you need to handle your success.
And that you receive what you’ve always wanted, even if it doesn’t come in the way you expected!
Whatever your new journey is, I’m excited for you and am cheering you on.
With Love,
Cathy
P.S. Get gritty.
